One of last year's most talked about and exciting events is back for 2010. Mark your calendars for April 3, 2010 and plan to spend your weekend in the Moonshine Capital of the World on some of the most popular trails in the Southeast. 6WC 2010 will again include the Warrior Creek Loop and a portion of the Overmountain Victory Trail at Warrior Creek Campground. This year's course will be even better as we'll be featuring some new tread and a bit more mileage. Final distance will be posted closer to race time, but when the final touches are done it should be ~ 11-12 mile loop--and nearly all of it is single-track. The trails offer wonderful views of the Yadkin River, W. Kerr Scott Reservoir and the surrounding mountains. The pit area is located under the forest canopy in a newly-renovated campground.

In tribute to the Northern European Spring Classics join us for the 2^nd Annual Hell of Hunterdon, a 79 mile Belgian themed ride in Hunterdon County, NJ. The challenging course features 18 sections of dirt, gravel, and hardscrabble roads (covering approximately 15% of the course) as you wind your way through scenic farmland and country towns. Total elevation gain is 3600 feet. The route is perfectly suitable for standard Road Bikes with Road Tires; tires wider than 23mm are suggested. Cyclocross bikes are welcome, but certainly not required, as most of the ride is on paved roads. It is the ideal preparation for those who plan to go to the Tour of the Battenkill on April 10^th.

Following the ride, please join us for the festivities (food, beer, and raffle) at Pure Energy Cycling & Java House in Lambertville, including plenty of beer courtesy of River Horse Brewing Company.

Petal for the Pets. You can help save the lives of homesless animals by raising money for the Martinsville-Henry County SPCA. Ride the famous Martinsville Speedway in Martinsville, Virginia to show your support and enjoy a ride in the shadow of the Blue Ridge Mountains. For ages 14 and up. Helmets are required. Cycling enthusiasts and fans are invited to participate in 'Breakaway Ride presented by Specialized," two riding events held in conjunction with the upcoming 2010 Amgen Tour of California professional cycling race set for May 16-23, 2010. Both rides will be held in April 2010 to raise funds for Amgen's Breakaway from Cancer® initiative.

Each 'Breakaway Ride' gives cycling enthusiasts the opportunity to ride the actual route of the 2010 Amgen Tour of California. Three distances will be offered for each ride to accommodate various skill levels; the longest distance covers the same route that the pros will ride (an entire stage). Riders will be chip timed and supported, with a maximum of 3,500 riders per event.

The two Breakaway Ride dates are:

Sunday, April 11: Stage 8 route – Thousand Oaks/Westlake Village/Agoura Hills

Three distances: Short course: 30 miles Intermediate: 55 miles and Long course: 80

Sunday, April 25: Stage 2 route – Davis to Santa Rosa

Three distances: Short course: 40 miles Intermediate: 65 miles and Long Course: approx. 100 miles

A challenging Belgian Themed Cyclosportive along the back roads of bucolic Bucks County, Pennsylvania. The ride is modeled after the Ronde van Vlaanderen (Tour of Flanders) Classic Bicycle Race held in Belgium.

72 miles of country roads in Bucks County, PA. The course features 25 sections of dirt and gravel road, covering approximately 23% of the course. There are steep climbs, technical descents, and miles of scenic country roads. Total elevation gain exceeds 5000 feet.

The route is perfectly suitable for standard Road Bikes with Road Tires; tires wider than 23mm are suggested. Cyclocross bikes are welcome, but certainly not required, as most of the ride is on paved roads.

The 3^rd Annual Summer OPEN Sprint Triathlon is the perfect season kick-off event. On May 23^rd come shake off the rust at Union Reservoir. Over the last 2 years this race has attracted beginners, veterans', and pro's all competing together with a small and friendly race feel. This event is limited to 400 competitors and sold out in 2009; please register early to take advantage of the early bird pricing!

Distances: The 3^rd Annual Summer OPEN Sprint Triathlon features a half mile swim, flat and fast 12 mile bike, and finishes with a 3.1 mile run. Please see course maps for a description and map of each discipline.

Join cycling enthusiasts from all across the United States for the seventh annual CARTI Tour de Rock, presented by Coulson Oil Company. Casual riders of all ages and skill levels can enjoy the 12-mile Arkansas Children's Hospital Family Fun Ride, or more experienced cyclists can select the U.S. Bank Advanced Ride which features route options of 30, 50, 62 or 100 miles. Registration fees, which include lunch and live entertainment, are: adults, $30 prior to June 1, and $35 after June 1; children ages 5-12, $5; children age 4 and under, free.
